  • Destiny Arlette

    Dancer

    Destiny Arlette (she/her) grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, where she received her early training at Studio A Dance Company. Destiny graduated from Towson University with a B.F.A. in Dance Performance & Choreography. As a member of the Towson University Dance Company, she has performed works by Peter Pucci, Amy Hall Garner, Malcolm Shute, Lizhu Chen, Linda Denise Fisher-Harrell, Vincent Thomas, and Will B. Bell. She is passionate about creative direction and choreography to curate conceptual productions in dance-focused film and photography.

  • Kayla Clancy

    Dancer

    Kayla Clancy (she/her) is a dancer, teacher, and the Director of Dance Athletics Dance Studio. A Maryland native, she received her B.F.A in Dance Performance and Choreography from Towson University. She has danced with Artistic Director Madeline Maxine Roman since college, including performances at Baltimore Theatre Project, Peabody Institute, Dance Loft on 14, Joe’s Movement Emporium, Atlas Performing Arts Center, Maryland Youth Ballet, and many more. Along with dancing and coaching the next generation of dancers through Dance Athletics, she has traveled the country managing dance conventions and competitions.

  • Levi Coy

    Dancer

    Levi Coy (they/he) is a queer dancer from Indiana who graduated from Ball State University in 2019 with a BFA in Dance. Seeking new opportunities, Levi moved to Baltimore, where they have made a significant impact in the local dance community. Their talents have been showcased in performances with The Collective, Kinetics Dance Company, GRIDLOCK Dance, Extreme Lengths Productions, and Orange Grove Dance. Levi is actively involved in several projects, contributing as a teacher and choreographer for Kinetics Dance Theatre and serving as the Rep 2 director of their Youth Ensemble. Additionally, Levi is an Adjunct faculty member for the Howard Community College dance program. Their dedication and passion for dance continue to propel them to new heights in their artistic journey.

  • Khiana Gilmer

    Dancer

    Khiana Gilmer (she/her) is a passionate and versatile dancer with over ten years of experience in contemporary and classical styles. She is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and has performed in numerous works under renowned choreographers throughout the years. Khiana’s stage presence has earned acclaim for her expressive performances and technical prowess. Her unwavering enthusiasm for dance drives her to continuously explore new creative expressions and to inspire others with her artistry. Her deep love for dance is a cornerstone of her career, fueling her performances and her efforts to advance the art form.

  • Bill Gorman

    Collaborator

    Bill Gorman (he/him) became passionate about multimedia when he was in high school. A jack of many trades, Bill lends his photography, videography, audio engineering, and interactive technology design skills to many GIRDLOCK Dance projects, including works presented at the Atlas Performing Arts Center, Joe's Movements Emporium, and the Cultural Arts Center of Montgomery County. Bill's photography has been featured in publications such as Dance Magazine, Broadway World, and Maryland Theatre Guide. Bill received his B.S. in Electronic Media and Film from Towson University in 2018.


  • Dylan Lambert

    Company Manager & Dancer

    Dylan Lambert (he/they) is a performer, maker, and arts administrator. Originally from Houston, TX (humid), but now living and dancing across the DMV (also humid), he has danced for Britta Joy Peterson, Ben Levine’s Extreme Lengths, Terre Dance Collective, Sadie Leigh, and with GRIDLOCK Dance since 2019. He graduated from American University in 2020 and is currently working on his M.A. in Arts Management at George Mason University. Interested in humor, play, intimacy, and the authentic self in motion, he has been told he makes intense eye contact sometimes, but is working on it (he’s just listening very intently).

  • Alexandra McGriff

    Dancer

    Alexandra McGriff (she/her), having recently relocated from Dothan, Alabama, brings a wealth of experience to her new community. Her dance journey began at age 4, with a competitive focus during her teenage years. She joined Alabama Dance Works (ADW) at 17, where she danced professionally, taught recreational classes, and choreographed award-winning routines for both solo and group performances. She has showcased her talents at events such as Jazz on Tap, The Alabama Dance Festival, The Impact Project, The Catharsis Series, Dance Canvas DC, and as a guest artist with Troy University. The past decade, she has expanded her expertise by teaching various dance styles and performing professionally. Currently, she dances with GRIDLOCK Dance and Arteinmovimento, two contemporary dance companies based in Washington, DC and Virginia.

  • Julianna Raimondo

    Dancer

    Julianna Raimondo (she/her) is a DMV-based dancer, choreographer, educator, and administrator. She graduated from James Madison University (’20) magna cum laude, receiving her B.A. in Dance with a minor in theater. In addition to GRIDLOCK, Julianna is also a company member with UpRooted Dance. She teaches all genres of dance and choreographs for the competitive team at The Newman Dance Center in Annapolis, MD. Julianna has presented choreography in both the 2021 and 2022 Richmond Dance Festivals and the 2024 Women Arts Exchange (WAX) Festival in Jacksonville, FL. Most recently, she presented new work in collaboration with Chloe Conway in the 2024 DC Dance Canvas Festival. Administratively, Julianna serves as the Outreach Coordinator for Dance Data Project. She is always reaching for opportunities to connect and share art, whether that be through education, administration, performance, or creation.

  • Madeline Maxine Roman

    Artistic Director, Choreographer & Dancer

    Madeline Maxine Roman (she/her) is talkative and loud. That's partly due to being hard of hearing, but primarily because she embraces her queer, disabled, and neurodivergent identity. Featured in Dance Magazine's 25 to Watch, Max is the founder and Artistic Director of GRIDLOCK Dance in Washington, DC. She creates performances that mirror the complexities of the human experience, often centered on societal responses to mental illness, disability, and mass media. Gracing stages nationwide, her most recent choreographic engagements include an Artist Residency at Montgomery College’s Cultural Arts Center (MD), the Rutgers University’s ChoreoLab (NJ), 40th Annual Choreographer's Showcase (MD), the Koresh Dance Showcase (PA), the SoloDuo Dance Festival at Dixon Place (NY), Dance Canvas at Georgia Tech (GA), the Atlas Arts Lab Fellowship (DC), and Dance Place's inaugural Dance and Disability Residency (DC). She graduated as commencement speaker from Towson University with her B.F.A. in Dance Performance & Choreography and B.S. in Mass Communication.

  • Valentina Roman

    Collaborator

    Valentina (she/her) is a singer-songwriter, poet, and therapist. With a B.S. in Music Education from Towson University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, Valentina enjoys sharing her music and poetry with GRIDLOCK Dance. Performing alongside GRIDLOCK, Valentina's work has included performances at Dixon Place and the Atlas Performing Arts Center. Valentina's poetry has been featured in work at the Cultural Arts Center of Montgomery County. Valentina's love for both her work as a therapist and as an artist come from her passion for exploring and expressing the human experience.

  • Baylee Wong

    Dancer

    Baylee Wong (she/her) received training in various dance styles including ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and ballroom. A graduate of Towson University, Baylee holds a B.F.A in Dance Performance and Choreography and was the recipient of the Outstanding Award for Choreography, the Jim Synder Award for Technical Excellence, and an Undergraduate Commencement Speaker. At Towson, Baylee had the privilege of working with Linda Denise Fischer-Harrell, Runqiao Du, Catherine Horta-Hayden, Vincent Thomas, Caroline Rocher Barnes, and Jawole Willa Jo Zollar. Baylee has taught at the Maryland Public High School Dance Festival and Dance Sanctuaries at the Kennedy Center Reach. Her original choreography has also been showcased at the Peabody Dance Festival and S.H.E./Moves at the Maryland Youth Ballet. Currently, Baylee dances with the Dana Tai Soon Burgess Dance Company and is excited to add GRIDLOCK Dance to her dance journey!

  • Natalie Young

    Associate Artistic Director & Dancer

    Natalie Young (she/her) graduated magna cum laude from Fordham University with a B.F.A in both Dance Performance and Creative Writing. Young has performed works by Alvin Ailey, Martha Graham, Adam Barruch, Brice Mousset, Adriane Fang, and Yin Yue, among others. A choreographer in her own right, Natalie’s works have premiered at The Ailey Citigroup Theater, Baltimore Theatre Project, Dance Loft on 14th, Charm City Fringe Festival, Baltimore Soundstage, the Miriam A. Friedberg Concert Hall, and Richmond Dance Festival. She has been dancing with Madeline Maxine Roman since 2018 and has created roles in ADDICT, Veritas, and Tooth and Claw. Natalie is the Associate Artistic Director of GRIDLOCK Dance.
